Pregnant woman thrashed by govt employees for complaining in CM’s Grievance Cell | KNO

Approaching Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell proved costly for a pregnant woman in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district as disgruntled government employees allegedly beat her to pulp at Municipal Council office. Tasleema Siraj of Qazi Hamam Baramulla emerged at Press Enclave Srinagar on Thursday demanding action under law against the four employees of Municipal Council Baramulla who according to her thrashed her mercilessly as a result she was admitted in District Hospital Baramulla. “From past two years I have been wandering from pillar to post to get an Aadhaar Card. Despite completing all the formalities, I didn’t get the card. Accordingly I filed a complaint before CM Grievance Cell vide order number 75626. On the directions of Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, the Aadhaar Incharge Mr Ishtiyaq Ahmed called me to his office,” she told news agency. “As I reached Municipal Council Baramulla, the four employees including two Operators Basharat Makno, Irshad Ahmed, Fayaz Ahmed, Muhammad Saleem first showered choicest invectives on me for approaching Chief Ministers Grievance Cell and they started pushing and hitting me. They continuously abused and slapped me,” Tasleema said adding that she regained her conscious only at District Hospital Baramulla. She said if approaching CM Grievance Cell is a crime then it is better for government to shut this Cell down. “I want justice and action those employees who acted as goons. I can identify them all,” she said. Meanwhile, a police official said that they have taken cognisance of the incident and assailants will face the music.
